Cycle 1 Consumable Class Pack

Cornerstone’s Cycle 1 Consumable Class Pack contains the consumable science materials needed for one class of 8 students and 1 tutor using the Classical Conversations Cycle 1 curriculum. Communities should purchase at least one Base Kit first, then add Consumable Class Packs for additional classes as needed.

This class pack supports hands-on science, conversation-based learning, and faith-centered exploration as students observe and discuss God’s design through guided activities.

Dissection Specimen Update

Due to limited inventory of crayfish and owl pellets, approved substitutions are included:

• Week 9: Grasshopper

• Week 10: Perch

Cycle 1 Consumable Class Packs include 9 grasshoppers (one per student and tutor) and 5 perch (four for student pairs and one for tutor demonstration), along with one Grasshopper Dissection Guide and one Perch Dissection Guide.

Grasshoppers (x9), forceps (x9), wooden probes (x9), foam trays (x9), dual magnifiers (x9; from Week 1)

Week 10:
Perch (x5), forceps (x5), wooden probes (x5), foam trays (x5), dual magnifiers (x9; from Week 1), perch dissection guide (x1 for tutor)

Week 13:
Fool’s gold panning pack, modeling clay (2 × 1-lb multi-color packs; use 2 sticks of one color)

Week 14:
Mineral streak plates (x9), straws (x9), plastic cups (x18), modeling clay (from Week 13; use 1 each of 3 colors)

Week 15:
Plaster (approximately 1-lb bag), plastic cups (x9), craft sticks (x9), modeling clay (from Week 13; any colors)

Week 16:
Balloons (x9)

Week 19:
Jar of Epsom salts (x1), microscope slides (12-pack), plastic pipette (x1)

Purchasing Guidance

How many should I order?  

We recommend purchasing one Base Kit for each of the first classes doing science simultaneously in your community. Next, purchase as many Class Packs (LINK) as you have additional science classes that will follow afterward.

• Number of classes starting the day = number of Base Kits

• Number of additional classes = number of Class Packs

Examples:
A community with 24 students where one class begins science first and two follow later will need one Base Kit and two Class Packs.

A community with 48 students where two classes begin science simultaneously and four follow later will need two Base Kits and four Class Packs.
