Classical Conversations Cycle 2 – Week 04 Lesson: Overcoming Inertia & Running in Circles introduces students to foundational physics and astronomy concepts through clear instruction and hands-on practice. In this lesson, students first explore the force of inertia and the effect of friction on a group of objects. Second, they discover that while all planets in our solar system orbit the sun (along with asteroids, comets, and other objects), each planet orbits at its own speed using the Classical Conversations Cycle 2 curriculum.
Designed to support hands-on science, scientific reasoning, and classical learning through discovery, this lesson helps students build confidence in observation and cause-and-effect thinking while engaging in forces and orbital motion exploration through meaningful discussion and application.
